How to choose in this department
A tankini splits the difference. It comes apart like a two piece, which matters in a changing room and at a toilet, and it covers like a one piece when you stand up.
The length of the top is the whole product. A short tankini top rides up in water and stops being a tankini at all. The cuts here are the long ones, and several have tummy control panels.
Bottoms come as boyshorts or briefs depending on the set. Boyshorts cover the top of the thigh and stay put. Briefs are lighter and dry faster.
It is not a suit for diving or for surf. Two pieces that separate always let water in when you hit it hard, and this cut is no exception.
